Why book covers are so important
by Daniel Black
Don’t judge a book by its cover. This statement has existed as long as there have been book covers, and it is true, many good books come with terrible covers. My books came with terrible covers until I hired a cover artist to fix it.
So why is there a question here of “why book covers are so important?” because as much as people say don’t judge a book by its cover, they almost always do. Authors are aware of this fact, and if the author has written a good book, he will take the time to find a good editor, he will take the time to find a good cover designer, and so… while you can’t judge a book by its cover, you can tell if the author is serious about his or her craft by it.
